(SportsNetwork.com) - The rolling St. Louis Blues take aim at a fifth straight victory when they host the Edmonton Oilers in Tuesdays battle at Scottrade Center. The Blues have won four in a row since beginning January with a loss at Anaheim and Ken Hitchcocks club has scored five or more goals in each victory during the hot streak. The last time out, St. Louis, which is third in the NHL with an average of 3.14 goals per game, was held under six goals for the first time since the 4-3 loss to the Ducks on Jan. 2. Still, the Blues managed to defeat the visiting Carolina Hurricanes, 5-4, in Saturdays shootout. T.J. Oshie scored the lone goal in the shootout to lift the Blues past the Hurricanes and improve to 15-4-1 at home this season. St. Louis is 2-0 so far on a seven-game homestand and wont play its next road tilt until it visits Carolina on Jan. 30. Oshie, the Blues first shooter, patiently skated through the slot, got Cam Ward to bite on a fake and lifted a shot into the top of the net. Jake Allen made Oshies effort stand as he stopped all three shooters, including a slick glove save on Alexander Semin to end the game. Vladimir Tarasenko, Jaden Schwartz, Alexander Steen and Patrik Berglund all scored in regulation for the Blues. Allen stopped 19-of-20 shots in relief of Brian Elliott, who allowed three goals on 10 shots during the first period. Despite the slow start, we came back in the second period, Blues defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk said. It was a good effort getting back and getting on the right side of things. The Blues, who are currently third in the Central Division and five points ahead of Winnipeg, have dominated Edmonton in recent years, taking four straight, nine of 10 and 15 of the last 18 meetings with the Oilers. St. Louis recorded a 4-3 overtime win against a visiting Edmonton club on Nov. 28, giving the Blues eight wins over the past nine encounters in the Gateway City. The Oilers are 3-2-2 over their last seven games and were handed a 4-2 home setback by the Florida Panthers on Sunday. Ben Scrivens stopped 23-of-27 shots for Edmonton, which was looking to win back-to-back games for the first time since Nov. 7-9. The Oilers beat the visiting Chicago Blackhawks 5-2 on Friday. Edmonton hasnt won a road game since beating the New York Rangers on Nov. 9, but hopes to change that on a four-game swing that begins tonight. The Oilers have lost a franchise-record 12 straight (0-6-6) on the road since beating the Blueshirts at Madison Square Garden over two months ago. The Oilers also will make stops in Tampa, Florida and Washington during this trek. They are 2-10-7 as the visiting club. Allen will get the start in net for the Blues tonight. He is 1-1-0 with a 4.02 goals against average in his career against Edmonton. Scrivens is 2-1-1 with a 3.67 GAA in his career against St. Louis, while Viktor Fasth has a win in his only career outing versus the Blues. Fasth earned a win against St. Louis while still playing for Anaheim on Feb. 9, 2013, yielding five goals on 31 shots in a 6-5 Ducks win. Stitched Soccer Jerseys . Stevenson scored the first three goals of the game in the first period for Regina (35-22-6), which has won eight of its last 10 games. Patrick DAmico added two for the Pats, Braden Christoffer had a single and Morgan Klimchuk chipped in a goal and four assists. Replica Soccer Jerseys . -- Each time the Utah Jazz threatened Memphis lead, the Grizzlies responded with defensive stops.First, Detroit Red Wings forward David Legwand was battling with Pittsburgh Penguins star Evgeni Malkin, when Legwand decided to spear Malkin in the groin with the butt-end of his stick. Legwand was assessed a five-minute major penalty on the play (deep in the third period of a 4-4 game) and a game misconduct, he was later handed a $5000 fine from the league. Last night, Boston Bruins agitator Milan Lucic appeared to spear Montreal Canadiens forward Alexei Emelin in the same area in act on revenge for a hit by Emelin in the first period. Take a look at both videos and determine for yourself who was in the wrong; first, Emelins hip-check on Lucic, followed by what appears to be a spear in retaliation. Now, even TSNs Mike Johnson had trouble seeing whether or not Lucic truly made contact with Emelin. There are two theories here; either Lucic speared him, or Emelin has eyes in the back of his head and gave an Oscar-worthy performance in an attempt to draw a penalty. Ill be going with the former. Lucic escaped the play without being called for a penalty and after walking it off down the Canadiens hallway, Emelin returned to thhe game.ddddddddddddIn the end, the Canadiens defeated the Bruins in a shootout, snapping the Bruins win streak at 12 games.Lucic then proceeded to make things worse for himself after the game by calling Emelin "a chicken" for throwing a low (legal) hit on him. He then claimed to have simply "skated by" Emelin in the third period and that he did not throw a spear to what TSNs John Lu described as "a sensitive area."There has been no word yet on whether or not Lucic will be facing league discipline for the incident. However, whether or not Lucic is fined or suspended, when it comes spearing a player in the groin, or any area really, its obvious you cant do that. Lucic then calling Emelin "a chicken" for throwing an open ice hit, when he threw an apparent spear to an unsuspecting player? You definitely cant do that.A lesson for next time Lucic, take a number and extract legal revenge. Though, if youre going to take the cowards route, dont call the other player a chicken. Those in glass houses shouldnt throw stones... or spear another player in them. You cant do that. ' ' '
